In the spring of 2026, the Year of the Horse, Xuanzhan Technology, an official authorized distributor of Sony (China), announced the latest release from Sony — the dToF LiDAR Sensor AS-DT1 is now officially available for global distribution.


Blending compact size, high precision, and exceptional reliability, the AS-DT1 delivers powerful new perception capabilities for advanced applications including drones, robotic systems, and industrial inspection. 2. High-Precision Ranging, Fearless of Complex Scenario Challenges

Equipped with Sony’s independently developed dToF (Direct Time of Flight) ranging module and a built-in high-sensitivity SPAD (Single-Photon Avalanche Diode) sensor, the AS-DT1 calculates distance by measuring the time it takes for light to be emitted, reflected by the target, and returned, enabling accurate three-dimensional (length, width, depth) ranging.


In indoor and outdoor environments within a 10m distance, the ranging error can be controlled within ±5cm, with a distance resolution of up to 0.25mm, which can clearly identify small distance differences between multiple objects.


What’s more noteworthy is that it breaks through the limitations of traditional ranging methods. Even when facing objects with low contrast and low reflectivity, or suspended targets, it can achieve accurate detection. Whether in crowded retail stores with numerous debris or warehouses with piled goods, it can stably output accurate ranging data, providing reliable support for the flexible operation of equipment.

3. Full Environment Adaptation & Stable Long-Distance Ranging

To meet the demands of diverse application scenarios, the AS-DT1 delivers precise ranging performance for both indoor and outdoor environments. It supports a maximum measuring distance of up to 40m indoors. Even under strong outdoor sunlight up to 100,000 lux on hot summer days, it still achieves a reliable ranging distance of 20m, effectively solving the common issues of inaccurate detection and limited range that traditional sensors face in bright outdoor conditions.


Furthermore, the sensor supports a frame rate of 30fps, and maintains 15fps at its maximum ranging mode. It quickly captures environmental changes and outputs smooth point-cloud data, making it ideal for obstacle avoidance on fast-moving robots and long-distance infrastructure inspection.
