Q1: Why can’t the VRS-HD5300 connect to our company’s HD interface boards for image output?
A1: The main reason is the mismatch in the pin definitions of the output interfaces.
With 17 years of hands-on experience in HD video secondary development (as of January 13, 2026), our company has independently developed a full range of interface boards for HD camera modules compliant with the Sony VISCA protocol. These include 3G-SDI, MIPI/LVDS-to-IP, HD-HDMI Compatible, USB3.0, USB Type-C, LVDS-to-MIPI, SDI/CVBS /HDMI Compatible all-in-one, and mini interface boards.
All these interface boards adopt LVDS or MIPI output interfaces, while the VRS-HD5300 features HD-SDI and EX-SDI for its HD video output. Due to the incompatibility of their output interfaces, direct connection for image output is not supported.
Q2: What is HD-TVI for the VRS-HD5300? What is its function?
A2: The HD-TVI technology applied to the VRS-HD5300 is a high-definition analog video transmission solution. It enables stable, long-distance, low-latency transmission of high-definition video signals via coaxial cables, with strong anti-interference performance. Meanwhile, it maintains full compatibility with legacy analog surveillance systems, effectively reducing upgrade costs for users.
1. Technical Analysis of HD-TVI
HD-TVI, short for High Definition Transport Video Interface, is a high-definition video transmission standard based on analog signals. It is specifically developed to address the compatibility challenges when upgrading traditional analog surveillance systems to high definition.
Transmitting uncompressed high-definition video signals through coaxial cables, HD-TVI supports mainstream resolutions including 720P and 1080P. It achieves a transmission distance of up to 500 meters—far exceeding the 100–200 meter range of conventional analog signals.
2. Core Advantages
Long-Distance Transmission: Leveraging the physical properties of coaxial cables, the HD-TVI technology on the VRS-HD5300 delivers high-definition signal transmission within 500 meters with minimal signal loss. No additional relay equipment is required for stable signal delivery.
Superior Anti-Interference: Analog signals are inherently less susceptible to electromagnetic interference than digital signals. HD-TVI further optimizes encoding to enhance anti-interference capability, ensuring smooth, stable video output in complex environments.
Zero-Latency Transmission: Without compression or decompression processing, HD-TVI ensures ultra-low transmission latency (typically less than 1 frame interval). It is ideal for high-real-time scenarios such as traffic monitoring and industrial inspection.
Seamless Compatibility: The VRS-HD5300’s HD-TVI technology is fully compatible with legacy analog devices, including cameras, matrix switches, and DVRs. Users can upgrade their surveillance systems to high definition without replacing all existing equipment, significantly cutting upgrade costs and downtime.
3. Application of HD-TVI in the VRS-HD5300
High-Quality Video Signal Transmission: As a professional high-definition surveillance device, the VRS-HD5300 captures high-definition video (up to 1080P) and transmits it to backend devices such as DVRs and displays via coaxial cables using HD-TVI technology. The signal remains uncompressed and lossless throughout transmission, delivering crystal-clear images with rich details.
Efficient System Upgrade: For traditional analog surveillance systems looking to upgrade to high definition, HD-TVI allows users to retain existing coaxial cables and partial hardware (e.g., displays, matrix switches). Only the front-end cameras need to be replaced with HD-TVI-compatible models like the VRS-HD5300, achieving a cost-effective and time-saving transition to high-definition surveillance.
Reliable Long-Distance Surveillance: In large-scale monitoring scenarios such as campus security, factory premises, and traffic intersections, the 500-meter long-distance transmission capability of HD-TVI eliminates signal attenuation or interruption caused by excessive distance, ensuring consistent and reliable monitoring coverage.
