The VRS-HD5200 delivers exceptional flexibility in video signal output. It not only supports stable transmission of HD video signals via the MCX RF interface, covering two standard formats (HD-SDI and EX-SDI), but also maintains ultra-clear image quality and low-latency performance during long-distance transmission. This meets the stringent signal quality requirements of professional scenarios such as high-end security surveillance and broadcast-grade applications.
In addition, the VRS-HD5200 can be paired with a dedicated control board to easily expand CVBS analog video signal output. This thoughtful design effectively addresses the compatibility needs of legacy vision systems, enabling traditional devices to connect to modern surveillance networks without large-scale upgrades. It thus significantly reduces system transformation costs and deployment complexity.

Q1: What are the core advantages of the VRS-HD5200?
A1:
Ⅰ. All-Round Compatibility with Signal Formats & Interfaces
a. Dual Coverage of Digital and Analog Signals:
The VRS-HD5200 not only supports uncompressed digital HD signals such as HD-SDI/EX-SDI, but also can output CVBS analog signals via an expansion board, enabling two-way bridging between digital and analog video systems.
b. Wide Compatibility with New and Legacy Devices:
This design allows the VRS-HD5200 to meet modern HD requirements, while also seamlessly integrating with early analog-based vision systems (e.g., legacy surveillance equipment, industrial inspection devices), effectively protecting users’ existing investments.
Ⅱ. Strong Anti-Interference Capability:
The SDI signals of the VRS-HD5200 are transmitted via coaxial cables, delivering high electromagnetic interference (EMI) resistance and ideal for stable long-distance transmission in industrial environments.
Ⅲ. Convenience in Engineering Deployment Standardized Interfaces:
The module’s MCX RF interface features a compact size and stable connectivity, making it suitable for integration into space-constrained compact devices.
Q2: The VRS-HD5200 supports the EX-SDI interface. What exactly is EX-SDI and what advantages does it offer?
A2:
I. What is EX-SDI?
EX-SDI, short for Extended Serial Digital Interface, is a proprietary extended technical standard independently developed and promoted by Ikegami Tsushinki Co., Ltd. based on the standard 3G-SDI protocol. Its core objective is to break through the limitation of traditional SDI that only transmits video signals without altering the SDI physical layer (coaxial cables, BNC connectors), enabling the one-way long-distance transmission of video, audio, control data and power in an integrated four-in-one solution.
II. What are the Core Advantages of EX-SDI?
The VRS-HD5200 with an EX-SDI interface stands out from traditional SDI counterparts with its core capability of four-stream integration — the key competitive edge of the EX-SDI standard:
1. High Integration & Simplified Cabling
All-in-one transmission via a single cable: This is the most revolutionary advantage of EX-SDI. A single standard coaxial cable (e.g., RG-6) enables simultaneous Power over Coaxial (PoC) for the camera, transmission of uncompressed high-definition video and audio signals, and two-way transmission of camera control data (including PTZ pan-tilt control, Tally signals, lens parameters, device status and more).
Significant cost and complexity reduction: In large-scale setups (e.g., OB vans, studios) or complex installations (e.g., ceiling-mounted cameras in sports venues), there is no need to lay separate power cables, video cables, control cables and audio cables. This greatly streamlines system integration, cuts cable costs, and lowers the difficulty of wiring and subsequent maintenance.
2. Ultra-Long-Distance Transmission
The reliable transmission distance of standard 3G-SDI is typically around 100 meters. The VRS-HD5200 equipped with EX-SDI, however, leverages advanced signal processing technology to stably transmit 3G/HD-SDI signals over an ultra-long distance of up to 500 meters with lossless image quality. This delivers unparalleled convenience for applications such as large venues, stage setups and long-range surveillance.
3. Seamless System Compatibility & Scalability
Backward Compatibility: Interfaces of EX-SDI devices (e.g., cameras, video switchers) are fully compatible with standard 3G/HD-SDI. Connected via a regular coaxial cable, it functions as a standard SDI device; when linked with dedicated EX-SDI system cables (or via an EX-SDI adapter), all its enhanced features are activated instantly.
Seamless Integration with Existing Systems: Users can gradually integrate EX-SDI cameras into their existing SDI infrastructure to achieve a smooth system upgrade without full-scale overhauls.
